    Happy Independence Day!

    On July 4th 1776, the wording for the Declaration of Independence was approved; “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

    56 men joined together to create not just a new nation but a new form of government, unique in its design and brilliant in its ability to be relevant today. Our founding fathers, different in so many ways, shared a common belief that freedom and liberty are worth everything.  “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

    So on this special day; remember what was done for us in order for us to enjoy living in the greatest country on earth. As we remember, let us also teach our children about our American heritage. The Congress, U. S. House Judiciary Committee, 1854 said this, “Had the people, during the Revolution, had a suspicion of any attempt to war against Christianity, that Revolution would have been strangled in its cradle… In this age, there can be no substitute for Christianity… That was the religion of the founders of the republic and they expected it to remain the religion of their descendants.”
